Review of Rhys Bowen's Evanly Bodies 2006

Evan and Bronwen are married now and happy in their cottage. Detective Evan, however, is assigned to a new investigative team, with an overbearing supervisor and three identical murders. Bronwen has a new friend, Jamila, a Muslim student who fears her radical brother. Okay, that's the surface. Evan is outside his normal sphere and he really doesn't like his boss, plus he steps on his old mates' toes by getting involved with a local matter when Jamila goes missing. He is sure his irritating boss is wrong about the motive of the killing, but Evan is wrong this time. Once again, Bowen presents a crime that is gray and the boundaries blurred. Not your average simple cozy, but real life issues about prejudice, spousal abuse and blame.

10th in the series

Guess what? Rhys Bowen will be appearing at A Night of Mystery at Maidu Library on April 20 at 7 pm.

Be there or be square!
